London Fashion Week is the reason I moved to London.
When I first visited the city in 2018 on a solo trip after graduating from university, the weekend I visited London just so happened to be London Fashion Week. At the time, I didn’t even know what street photography or street style was – but what I did know was the energy I felt was invigorating.
At that point, London was the only city I had travelled to that I felt there was more to explore; I could see myself living there.
Fast forward years later, and London is now my home. It’s a city that, as a photographer from Vancouver, Canada, has helped my lifestyle photography career flourish as well as my love for travel.
While Fashion Week wasn’t the direct reason I came, the way it made me feel at the time painted the picture of London in my head that I never forgot.
At my first Fashion Week as a Londoner in September 2024, I showed up with a camera, not knowing anyone or where any events were (having moved to the city only a couple of months before). Nonetheless, I approached strangers with my 28mm lens and took intimate portraits around the city.
That experience became one of my most important milestones in my move. Not only did I meet some of my closest friends in London (who were other photographers and guests there), but the images I took led me to photograph a campaign for Burberry the following Fashion Week, AW25, and now shooting for Pinterest this season, SS26.
Writing London street style blog posts like this one (specifically, SS25’s best of men’s street style and best of women’s street style) led my images to be discovered by Pinterest’s content team. I was floored when Pinterest asked me to shoot Fashion Week for their “Spotted by Pinterest” editorial series in the exact style I already loved.
Shooting what you love without compromise was the lesson my high school photography teacher always taught us, and to receive a commission documenting what has defined my London experience and career was a privilege.
Opportunities like this are what get me excited about photography and validate my move to this energetic city.
Myself and my style lead, Leanne Bebbington, scoured the streets outside shows at London Fashion Week’s Spring/Summer 2026 instalment and photographed portraits, outfits, and details we’re excited to share – all with my intimate 28mm lens.
